What we check
Motorhomes and campervans are registered with the DVLA, so we can check them against the same records used for any vehicle: whether they are recorded as stolen, still have outstanding finance, have been written off by an insurer, have a mileage discrepancy, or have been imported, exported or scrapped. What we are honest about
Touring caravans have no registration plate and no DVLA record, so a vehicle history check does not apply to them. We will never sell you a “tourer check” that does not exist. Instead, our CRiS guide explains the correct register for touring caravans. A history check is also a data check, not a physical inspection: it cannot see damp or mechanical condition, so always view the vehicle in person too.
Our data and accuracy
Reports combine public-sector data (DVLA vehicle records and DVSA MOT history, licensed under the Open Government Licence) with finance, write-off and stolen data from Experian. Data is supplied on an as-is basis and can occasionally be incomplete or delayed, so a report should be one part of your due diligence, not the only part. Our guides are written and reviewed by our experienced team and updated as facts change.
