Why a stolen check matters

In law, someone who sells you a stolen vehicle cannot pass good title. If it is later identified, it is returned to the rightful owner or their insurer, and you are left out of pocket. Motorhomes are high-value and a known target for theft and cloning.

Watch for cloning

A stolen motorhome is sometimes given the identity of a legitimate one (a clone). If the price seems too good, the paperwork is thin, or the seller will not meet at the registered address, treat it as a red flag and check the VIN against the V5C.
