Why tourers cannot be HPI checked

HPI-style checks rely on the DVLA registration and MOT records. Touring caravans are towed, not driven, so they have neither. Instead, most UK touring caravans are recorded on the CRiS register by a unique 17-digit number etched on the windows and chassis.

If you are buying a motorhome or campervan, you are in luck: those are DVLA-registered and a full history check works for £9.99.

Tourers use the CRiS register, not a vehicle check. Read our honest guide.
