- VIN on the vehicle matches the V5C.
- History check clear of stolen, finance and write-off markers.
- MOT history with consistent mileage and no serious recurring advisories.
- Service history and a recent habitation service certificate.
The physical inspection
- Damp: corners, windows, roof lights, under seating and the floor. Use a damp meter if you can.
- Habitation: fridge, heating, hob, water pump, lights and sockets all working.
- Tyres: tread and, crucially, age (motorhome tyres perish before they wear out).
- Engine, brakes and a test drive.
- Bodywork, seams and roof for signs of leaks or repairs.
