The red flags
- A price well below market value, with pressure to pay a deposit quickly.
- The seller cannot meet at the address on the V5C, or wants to deliver.
- The VIN on the vehicle does not match the V5C, or looks tampered with.
- No service history, no habitation certificate, and vague answers.
- Payment demanded by bank transfer with no chance to inspect first.
Never pay before you check
Do not send a deposit for a motorhome you have not seen. Verify identity in person, run a history check for stolen, finance and write-off, and only then agree a sale.
